The Danville Office of Economic Development & Tourism will host an Accelerated Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training on September 22-23, 2026. This interactive, hands-on workshop will provide participants with a practical foundation in proven methods for identifying problems, improving workflows, reducing errors, and driving better business results.

During this two-day program, participants will explore:

  • Lean principles and the elimination of non-value-added activity
  • The Eight Wastes and process efficiency concepts
  • Six Sigma principles and the reduction of process variation
  • The DMAIC problem-solving framework
  • Integration of Lean and Six Sigma methods
  • Root cause analysis techniques
  • Process mapping and workflow visualization
  • Data-driven decision-making fundamentals
  • Practical tools for identifying and reducing waste, delays, defects, and inefficiencies

This workshop goes beyond classroom instruction. Participants will take part in a dynamic Lean simulation that demonstrates how process improvement tools can affect quality, productivity, throughput, customer satisfaction, and cost.

Through multiple rounds of team-based activity, participants will see how changes to workflow, communication, process design, and problem solving can produce measurable improvements. The simulation helps connect Lean Six Sigma concepts directly to real workplace challenges.

Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to recognize waste, variation, and process inefficiencies within their organizations; explain the foundational principles of Lean and Six Sigma; and identify opportunities to improve quality, delivery, customer service, safety, and overall workplace performance. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Completion.
